2023 Rollins DX Event Results

The AWA John Rollins Memorial DX Event is the third series of on the air events sponsored by the AWA that encourages the use of vintage radio gear to communicate with other amateur radio stations. This year’s event was held during the first week of March 2023.
I received a total of sixteen logs for this year’s event. This is more than double last year’s total, thank you all very much!
Congratulations go to Ron N4GJV with the top score of 84 points. Ron used a homebrew transmitter and receiver on 40 and 80 meters.
Second place goes to Joe W3GMS with a total score of 78 points. Joe used a Heathkit DX-60 transmitter and a Drake 2-B receiver.
Third place goes to Will W1TS with a total score of 69 points. Will used a Viking Navigator transmitter and a Hammarlund SP-600 receiver.
Most of the activity was on 80 and 40 meters this year. There were a total of 232 contacts with 89 contacts on 80 meters, 142 on 40 meters, and 1 on 20 meters for a total of 682 points.
Thanks to all that participated in the contest this year and took the time to send in logs, it was great to see an increase in activity and I am looking forward to working you all again in next year’s event.
