2025 Rollins DX Event Results

The AWA John Rollins Memorial DX Event is the third series of on the air events sponsored by the AWA that encourages the use of vintage radio gear to communicate with other amateur radio stations. This year’s event was the first to be held on two consecutive weekends, the 15^th and 22^nd of March 2025.

I received a total of 20 logs for this year’s event which is up from last year. There were a total of 144 contacts with 66 contacts on 80 meters, 61 on 40 meters, and 17 on 20 meters. The three top scores were myself W8PU at 66 pts., Howard WB2AWQ at 51 pts., and Harold KB0ROB at 42 pts.

Activity on 80 and 40 meters was close to equal, and there was an increase in activity on 20 meters this year. Most of the activity seemed to be during the evening hours. Several have commented that the activity was down. I think part of the problem may have been just missed opportunities; individuals were just missing each other. Maybe having the contest on a single weekend would be better, hard to say.

Thanks to all that participated in the contest and took the time to send in logs, it was great to work those of you I could, and I am looking forward to seeing all of you again in next year’s contest.
