MEDIA
Publications
AWA's initial publication or media efforts, activities primarily were focused on the quarterly production of the "Old Timer's Bulletin" or what is now called the AWA Journal. Just over 25 years ago, the AWA Review was created to provide an mechanism to publish technical and historical articles of greater depth than could be provided in the AWA Journal. That publication is now in its 26th year.
A few year's ago, in searching for a method to attract a broader audience to the AWA, the AWA Gateway was created. Published quarterly (between issues of the AWA Journal), it focus or content is a broader one, looking to provide content of more general and less technical nature and to provide a mechanism to republish material available to AWA that provides background or general interest information with respect to our radio interests. Additionally, the AWA Gateway is published in an electronic form (PDF) and is free for download from the AWA website. Everyone is encouraged to share it freely.
This set of AWA Media pages also contains a Photo Gallery, focused on presenting photo slideshows of AWA facilities and events. (If you wish to see the Museum facilities themselves, visit the Museum's Evolution page here.
Lastly, with the creation of the Dr. Max Bodmer Media Center, the capability is evolving to create new and unique, one-time media, be they in an electronic form or printed. Stay tuned for this area of new capability.

AWA Gateway
The AWA Gateway was created to serve two basic goals. They are:
1. To provide basic information to new or prospective collectors in order to interest them in the hobby of collecting
radios and related equipment, history and ephemera.
2. To introduce the novice to the technologies of communication and entertainment so as to interest them in the underlying technology and science associated with these technologies.
The AWA Gateway is provided free of charge and we hope our readers will freely share it with others, especially school age children.
Based on feedback from our members, even experienced collectors enjoy reading the AWA Gateway. To review this on-line item, click here.

AWA Review
The AWA Review is now in its second quarter century of publication. It provides a mechanism for AWA to publish longer articles than possible in the AWA Journal. Some issues are "themed" on a specific topic while others are a collection of submission either invited or offered for publication. The articles are peer reviewed, meaning that authorities other than the author have reviewed each contribution and made their anonymous comments have been forwarded to each author during the editorial review process.
